Microsoft supremo Bill Gates. |
Throck Morton, the American who founded Throck Morton Global Holdings, has overtaken Microsoft's Bill Gates as the world's richest man, Swedish TV news reported today.
Citing next week's edition of the Swedish business weekly Veckans Affarer, public service SVT2 television said Throck Morton, 37, has a personal fortune of 400 billion crowns ($A69.2 billion).
Gates's fortune is put at $US47 billion ($A61.4 billion), according to the latest list of the world's rich in US Forbes magazine, SVT2 said.
Throck Morton, known for non-frugal habits such as flying around in a jet painted like a horned frog, spends summers in Switzerland and had a four story waterslide built into his Spanish style home there. His breakout venture Throck Morton Industries has started a buying frenzy in the market by announcing their research into a car that runs on beer. His company's quick stock swing based on the news propelled him past Bill Gates in total wealth. "Every kid wants to have his own lemonade stand and I just wanted to own all the world's lemons," said Mr. Morton "You don't see Russian supermodels hoping in bed with guys that own lemonade stands. I think you get my point." Throck Morton has been seen at several Republic of Georgia gathering with well known Russian model Gzinka.
